This year we didn't print greeting cards. Instead we had donated the money to the Red Cross and Caritas.

1. New technical regulative, successfully implemented together with the certification, enables safe and stabile production, we know what to do to lay the asphalt adequately (TSC)

2. On the 12th Colloquium the presented papers showed the prospect of greater use of asphalt pavements on airports, railroads and in logistic centres.

3. New design regulations are accepted but not yet checked, therefore we propose transition period before final putting into force!

4. Improvements in design projects, inventory of works and tendering processes for works on pavements are needed; therefore designers should be enabled to gain additional knowledge. It is suggested that workshops are organized where also IZS (Slovenian Chamber of Engineers) should be involved. We are thinking about the licensing for the elaboration of pavement design projects.

5. Contracting by the method of “lowest price” does not always assure the best results. Proposals for more effective and innovative ways of contracting need to be prepared.

6. New laboratory tests at high and low temperatures were implemented successfully, in the next phase additional dynamic stiffness and fatigues tests must be implemented.

7. The use of alternative materials (slag, rubber, lime and use of reclaimed asphalt are our future. The condition for the use is assurance of the same quality of the product as “new” materials.

8. Low noise pavement surfaces are our obligation, in this field improvements and steps forward are needed. A similar situation is with low temperature asphalts where stagnation in the development is found out.

9. Regular communication with clients and universities need to be established. Why we do not know Pavement Engineers? How the study for this profession can be stimulated?

10. The development of plants and mechanisation must continue, the use of asphalt feeder Shuttle Buggy needs to be stimulated again.

11. Asphalt industry is aware of the importance of permanent development and therefore measures towards lower energy consumption are introduced into new technological processes.
