At the Slovenian Asphalt Pavement Association, we traditionally organize Asphalters’ Day every second year. This year’s, the eighth one in a row, was held on December 1, 2022 in the pleasant surroundings of Dvor Jezeršek & Academy in Zgornji Brnik.
On this day, all the professional bodies operating within the ZAS met. The central event was professional lectures and a meeting Enterprises and Companies Committee.
Technical committee (TC), Health, safety and environment committee (HSEC) and Committee of young professionals (CYP) had joint meeting.
The following papers were presented at the professional part of the Asphalters Day:
• Asphalt 4.0 for sustainable roadways, Vasja Grmek, Pomgrad and head of OZVO ZAS
• Digitization and sensor technology…the way to 4.0 roads, Matthias Martus, infraTest Prüftechnik
• Wood instead of fossil fuels, Jürgen Graf, Graf Anlagenbau
The meeting of the Enterprises and Companies Committee was chaired by the president of the association, mag. Slovenko Henigman, where 9 items of the agenda were discussed, among other information about the achieved asphalt production for 2021and prediction for 2022, quality of asphalt works in 2022, international cooperation with EAPA, report on the work of the Asphalt Commission and information about the international conference Asphalt 4.0, which was held in September organized by ASEFMA and ZAS, with the support of EAPA in Madrid. The film Asphalt 4.0 for sustainable roadways was shown. At the end of the meeting, initiatives and proposals for future work were given.
We ended the meeting with a joint dinner, which took place in a pleasant atmosphere and conversation. More than 50 ZAS members and other invited guests gathered.
