Madrid will host the 5th International ICA 4.0 Conference – International Conference on Asphalt 4.0 on 22 and 23 September 2026, one of the most important international professional events in the field of digital transformation of the asphalt industry.
The conference is organised by the Spanish association ASEFMA in cooperation with the Slovenian Asphalt Pavement Association (ZAS) and the German association DAV, with the support of EAPA.
This year’s conference will be held under the title “Asphalt 4.0: digital intelligence for more sustainable, durable and productive roads” and will focus on the role of digitalisation and digital intelligence in developing more sustainable, higher-quality, and more productive roads.
The two-day technical programme will bring together representatives from industry, road authorities, research and academic institutions, and technology solution providers. Participants will address key challenges and opportunities of digital transformation, including the impact of digitalisation on decarbonisation, the use of artificial intelligence and digital twins, automated monitoring of road infrastructure, the development of digital road management platforms, and new technologies for quality control and improved pavement durability.
The programme will consist of keynote lectures, technical sessions, and panel discussions, offering participants direct insight into the latest technologies, practical case studies, and experiences from different countries and organisations. The conference therefore represents an important opportunity for knowledge exchange, networking, and joint reflection on the future development of the asphalt industry.
Further information about the conference and registration is available on the official ICA 4.0 conference website.
