Slovenko Henigman has taken over the presidency of the European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA) this year. On this occasion, the German professional magazine Asphalt & Bitumen published an article on the handover of the presidency, featuring interviews with both the new President, Slovenko Henigman, and his predecessor, Ralf Pomp, who led EAPA from 2023 to 2026.
Reflecting on the conclusion of his term, Ralf Pomp shared his views on the achievements and challenges EAPA has faced over the past three years, while Slovenko Henigman presented his vision for the future development of the European asphalt industry and outlined the key priorities facing EAPA in the years ahead.
A number of important challenges remain at the forefront – from sustainable development and the circular economy to digitalisation, the adoption of new technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as ensuring high-quality and long-term sustainable road infrastructure. An important priority for the new EAPA President will also be strengthening cooperation between national asphalt associations and fostering closer collaboration across the European asphalt industry.
